Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born on March 4, 1954. O'Hara is the proud winner of numerous prizes that include an award called the Genie Award. In the year 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. Then, in 2020, she was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara first became known as an actress when she was part of The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. She was part of the main cast on the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) together with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. The next year, O'Hara and Candy began working in the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984), where she drew critical acclaim for both her work as a comedic actor and writer, securing an award called the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board which was headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
